This forum will be an opportunity for the students and for the young graduates to meet with representatives from French universities and firms and to exchange expectations, job opportunities, as well as experiences. 8:45-12:30 : Institutional workshop Location: Copenhaguen Business School (CBS) Aims of this workshop: To consolidate existing academic partnerships and to create new ones; To encourage joint training between higher education institutions in targeted fields: double degrees, joint Masters, PhDs under co-supervision, ... Tentative programme for Sweden
Wednesday & Thursday, November 18 & 19
Venue : Stockholm School of Economics / Handelshögskolan (HHS), in Partnership with the student Union of HHS Meeting between French universities, companies and students. The Swedish students will have the possibility to meet and to discuss with representatives from the French universities and the participating companies. Workshops and seminars will take place during the day and simultaneously a fair will enable some personal contacts with the targeted public. This day will involve the International Programme Office for Education and Training (Programkontoret), the national agency for grants and loans (CSN) and the French-Swedish Chamber of Trade Tentative programme: 8:30-9:00: Coffee and installing 9:00-9:15: Opening, with the participation of HE Joel De Zorzi, Ambassador of France and Lars Bergman, president of HHS 9:00-17:00: exhibition stands, open to the public (student fair including company presentations) + lunch cocktail for participants (companies + French HE representatives) 9:30-10:30: round-tables (with members of the French delegation, enterprises and their Swedish counterparts) - Presentation of the Swedish and French higher education systems (with a focus on career prospects) - Specificities of the job market situation in Sweden and in France 13:30-14:30: round-tables (with members of the French delegation, enterprises and their Swedish counterparts - Funding and incentive for student mobility (with CSN and Programkontoret) - Qualifications and careers: a comparative prospect for France and Sweden 18:00-20:00: reception at the French Residency + Ceremony award of the Swedish French Prize for Excellency in Research 22:00: concert organized at the Debaser Medis in the framework of the French-Swedish Rock Season Day 2, 19th of November Venue : Royal Institute of technology / KTH Along with the promotion of mobility inside Europe and especially to France, this second day will also handle the question of institutional cooperation. Hence, a bilateral workshop between the representatives of French universities, and their Swedish counterparts (Departments of International Relations and Corporate Relations) will takle place in first part of the day. The aim is to boost the current partnerships between our two countries, targeting mostly joint degrees. 8.45-9.00 Welcome address by HEM Françoise Bourolleau, Ambassador of France to Finland, and Matti Tikkanen, vice-rector of the University of Helsinki The number of Finns going to France has gone down regularly for the last couple of years. What is the current situation? Which programs are available and which new ideas should be promoted in order to enhance mobility? What are the main challenges universities have to face? Are joint curricula/programs/degrees a way of promoting mobility? With the example of a French-Finnish joint degree, what are the issues that need to be considered? Are there other cooperation opportunities? Do Finnish universities even need cooperation?
